As a Product Engineer in the MATTR Labs team my role bridges the creative and technical. I spend my time designing interactive demos, prototyping innovative product experiences and assisting our technical writer in crafting educational videos and developer documentation.

Working at the intersection of design and engineering, I've had the opportunity to shape how developers and enterprises experience our digital credential platform. From crafting seamless onboarding flows to building demo applications that showcase the power of verifiable credentials.

Before moving to a Product Engineering role I spent my first year at MATTR architecting and contributing to our web portal. I was one of two developers who scaffolded our core Redux state management solution and documented our core development practices in our Next.js app.

I built out a robust design token system automating the process of creating and managing tokens in Figma to adopting them in code. Eventually I became interested in the MATTR Labs team and how they contributed to the greater MATTR vision. I expressed interest in contributing more directly to the development of MATTR's products and was fortunate enough to get the opportunity.

I primarily worked across the VetRadar web dashboard and app (Expo). I was a key contributor, engineering features across a range of domains. I also mentored team members and acted as our team's Scrum Master.

Before leaving I led an initiative to improve our E2E tests and began training our QA to manage our automated tests. This role gave me valuable experience in mobile development and working in a fast-paced startup environment.

I took over development of the Pricewise Shopify site and produced designs for marketing assets displayed in-store and online.

I also proposed the migration away from a legacy POS system to Cin7 and worked alongside a consulting partner to clean up and migrate the extensive product catalog to the new system. Once migrated I ran education sessions for key members from the 15 stores to help them adopt the new platform.

Kete Kai was an ambitious impact-driven startup focused on using technology to end hunger in Aotearoa by 2030. As a co-founder, I was involved in all avenues of the business.

I packed meal kits for the first year of operation, ran all social media accounts, did customer support, and led our UI/UX design. I also managed the product development of internal operational tools reducing BAU work involved in recipe creation and ordering, and mentored a Mission Ready designer over the span of 10 weeks.

After completing my study at Dev Academy I returned to design and rebuild the Kete Kai website, while also focusing on automating the remainder of our reoccurring tasks.
